Daviess County Custody Alerts
Missouri's official service goes by MOVANS, short for Missouri Victim Automated Notification System. The Missouri Department of Public Safety MOVANS page lays out county jail custody, Department of Corrections custody, court events, and protective orders. Each has its own search and registration path. The Daviess/DeKalb Regional Jail resources page also posts a V.I.N.E. link. So people still search for VINELink in Daviess County. The state's current instructions govern local jail alerts now.
Many arrests in Daviess County end up booked at DDCRJ, the regional jail. It is a separate district entity rather than a Daviess County Sheriff operation. After transport and intake, a person usually appears on the regional JailTracker roster. MOVANS then offers a status path whenever the jail feed is online. Missouri cautions that a no-result reply can happen when a jail feed drops offline. An empty answer does not mean release. It also does not mean no arrest occurred. The official DDCRJ resources page presents detainee search and V.I.N.E. tools side by side. Both sit in one official setting.

The DDCRJ page puts custody search and V.I.N.E. notification tools together, yet each serves its own purpose.
Check a Daviess County Inmate
Start with the state service itself. Skip unofficial mobile apps. A search accepts an offender identifier or a first and last name. The public-user reference suggests narrowing common names with date of birth or age. Pick the reporting agency when you know it. Daviess and DeKalb share one jail, so read the holding and reporting agency fields closely. A facility match alone does not tell you which agency made the arrest.
- Open the official MOVANS portal and choose custody search.
- Enter the full name or offender ID. Add age or birth date when allowed.
- Select Daviess/DeKalb Regional Jail or the relevant Missouri DOC agency when offered.
- Compare age, birth information, custody state, and reporting agency before accepting a match.
- Open the detail and use its registration control if alerts are needed.
A bare name proves little. Aliases, typos, and similar names can return several matches or none at all. For a fresh arrest, check the regional roster and call DDCRJ at 660-367-2200. The sheriff keeps the arresting record it created. The jail keeps its own booking and custody record. The VINELink entry map shows the older public doorway into state notification services.

Pick the jurisdiction, then follow Missouri's current instructions. Delivery rules changed in 2026. Note: Booking can lag an arrest because transport, identity checks, property intake, and regional system entry all happen first.
Daviess County VINELink Results
The legacy guide describes result rows and detail views with identity and custody fields. Displays vary. A record may carry a photo. MOVANS is a notification service, though, not a booking-photo archive. For current regional roster detail, DDCRJ JailTracker is the stronger official source. Missouri Case.net is where a filed case lives. Its disposition appears there too.
| Result field | How to read it |
|---|---|
| Name and offender ID | Use both when possible; an ID is safer than a name-only match. |
| Age or date of birth | Helps separate people with similar names. |
| Custody status | Shows the state reported by the jail or Missouri DOC, subject to feed timing. |
| Holding or reporting agency | Identifies the agency feeding status, not always the arresting agency. |
| Facility | May show DDCRJ or a Missouri DOC institution after transfer. |
| Registration option | Creates alerts for that custody record; court alerts need separate registration. |
Custody status answers a narrow question. It does not fix the final charge or replace the court file. Booking charges can be reduced, dismissed, or never filed at all. Follow the outcome through Missouri Case.net.
Register for Missouri Custody Alerts
The current local-jail process offers SMS text or email notices. Registration attaches to one custody record inside MOVANS. Custody, court, and protective-order alerts stay separate. Signing up for a jail status change does not add court-event alerts, so anyone wanting both must complete both paths.
- Confirm the correct identity and reporting agency.
- Choose custody notification for that record.
- Select SMS or email under current MOVANS instructions.
- Complete the verification sent to that contact channel.
- Save the details and update them if contact information changes.
Alerts help, but direct confirmation still matters. Release, transfer, or temporary transport can each trigger a notice. A reporting change can, too. When the meaning is unclear, contact the agency. For removal or technical help, Missouri lists movans@dps.mo.gov and 573-526-1929. The MOVANS service screen is the state-branded starting point for registration.

The state interface should be read with the Department of Public Safety update instructions.
Why Daviess Alerts Changed
Missouri overhauled local-jail notification registration in May 2026. Per the Department of Public Safety migration notice, prior users had to register again. Local-jail notices moved to SMS and email. Phone calls ended on that route. So did VINELink app notifications. Old advice about phone PINs and repeated calls is legacy guidance now.
The migration also matters when a search comes back empty. DPS warns that a jail can be offline. In Daviess County, pair MOVANS with DDCRJ JailTracker. Add a direct call to the jail after a fresh arrest. The state adds that MobilePatrol and Missouri Sheriff Connect have no MOVANS affiliation. The sheriff's office lists no inmate app of its own.
Daviess Custody Systems Compared
One arrest can touch several databases. The roster shows current county-jail custody. MOVANS tracks reported custody and sends alerts. Missouri DOC search applies after a commitment to state custody or supervision, while Case.net follows the court file. Each answers a different question.
| Source | Best use | Key limit |
|---|---|---|
| DDCRJ JailTracker | Current regional roster and available booking detail | Dynamic and current-focused, with unpublished cadence |
| MOVANS | Custody status and release or transfer alerts | Feed can lag or be offline |
| Missouri DOC Offender Search | State prison or DOC supervision | Not a county booking feed |
| Missouri Case.net | Filed charges, hearings, and disposition | Not a live custody locator |
Released people can drop off a current-only roster while the arrest record stays with its creator. A state sentence moves a person into DOC systems. The court disposition is the legal end point; custody status is just the present operational state.
VINELink Limits in Daviess County
MOVANS covers only part of the picture. It cannot see into federal lockups. For federal inmates, use the Federal Bureau of Prisons locator, and for immigration holds, the ICE detainee locator. It also cannot produce a sheriff incident report. It cannot tell you how a court case ended. And it does not promise that every booking photo shows up. For those answers, call the agency that made the arrest, the jail holding the person in DDCRJ custody, or the court with the filed case.
The Daviess County Sheriff sits at 609 B South Main Street in Gallatin, Missouri. The phone number is 660-663-2031. Administrative hours run Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The published contact page lists no separate records line. When you write, include the person's name, the arrest date, the arresting agency, and the exact record you want.
Release changes what you can see. A person no longer in custody may drop off the current DDCRJ roster. Older arrest reports, booking sheets, and court files can still exist. MOVANS can send a release notice. That notice says nothing about how a case ended, so ask the record creator for a dated copy when you need to confirm what happened. Case.net shows later filings. If the person transferred into Missouri prison custody, search the Department of Corrections offender system rather than assuming the regional jail still tracks the status.
Names alone can mislead. A common name may match several people. An alias can hide a valid record. Before registering, compare a stable offender ID, birth date or age, reporting agency, and facility. Never lean on a booking photo alone. DDCRJ publishes no rule that every booking carries a public photo, or how long one stays online.
